20 Minute Interval Treadmill Workout

Time for another treadmill workout.  I really like this but it’s really hard to emulate on the ground.  If you don’t have a treadmill try this in a park or this sprint workout instead.

20 Minute Interval Treadmill Workout

Warm Up
2 Minute 30 Second – Walk at 15% incline.

Workout
1 Minute: Jog – 15% incline
30 Seconds: Sprint or Run – 15% incline (By sprinting I mean faster than your jog but it will certainly be slower than if you weren’t on an incline.  Be careful don’t fall!)
1 Minute: Walk – 15% incline
1 Minute: Jog – 10% incline
30 seconds: Sprint – 10% incline
1 Minute: Walk – 10% incline
1 Minute: Jog – 5% incline
30 Seconds: Sprint – 5% incline
1 Minute: Walk – 5% incline
1 Minute: Jog – No incline
30 Seconds: Sprint – No incline
1 Minute: Walk – No incline
1 Minute: Jog – 5% incline
30 Seconds: Sprint – 5% incline
1 Minute: Walk – 5% incline
1 Minute: Jog – 10% incline
30 Seconds: Sprint – 10% incline
1 Minute: Walk – 10% incline
1 Minute: Jog – 15% incline
30 Seconds: Sprint – 15% incline
1 Minute: Walk – 15% incline

All done!!!!

(Don’t forget to stretch.)

Just got home from the gym and LOVED this workout! Normally I stay clear away from the treadmill, where I live it is much more fun to enjoy the great outdoors, but this workout was something fun and new. Next time I might increase the jogs to 1.5 minutes and the sprints to a minute… Thanks Jenn!

Alright I need to re-comment because I did this workout again today and still LOVE it, however, I upped my “jogs” and “sprints” and have since decided that by doing this I don’t need to up my minutes! I was dead at the end… which felt fantastic! I guess learning to push yourself takes time to learn and effort that we sometimes don’t think we have! Thanks again!

Thanks for the encouragement! I’m looikng forward to the time where walk breaks aren’t a mandatory part of the program. :) But if I don’t get there by next week, I’ll shoot for the week after. It’ll come I feel sure. And thanks for giving me a new blog for my list april-anne, I hadn’t seen yours yet.
