Just because the shoe fits…doesn’t mean you should wear it.
Or in my case pants.
So I’ve been storing about 6 pairs of pants for about 10 years in hopes that someday I’d be able to fit back into them. Well that day has come. Today I tried them on and low and behold they fit. But after 10 years they look more like “mom jeans” than the cute little college pants I remembered. What a let down. Although I think high waisted pants may be back in style but I’m not sure. Anyway, I had put a lot of effort into holding onto these pants. I lugged them around over 5 different moves dreaming of the day I could slip back into them. Today I finally thought I was going to reap the rewards of my hard work only to be disappointed to realize that: 1. I’m older than I feel. 2. I had bad taste in previous years. 3. I need to make another trip to the Goodwill. Back in the day, I thought I looked good in those short Gap shorts with the 9″ zipper. Now I’m wondering, in horror, if I tucked my shirt in? Disappointed, I asked my husband what I should do with my pants. His suggestion – hold onto them for another 10 years.

I love this post..Brent’s right…Keep them ! You have never had bad taste !
Speaking as someone who holds on to way too much. The pants could come in handy as costumes for a 90’s party. And yes everything old is new again when it comes to fashion, so if you will hold on long enough you could sane some money.
Cute post.
Great video link! I agree with the above post to hang onto at least one pair for a ’90s themed party.
Yes, you tucked your shirt into those shirts that were so high they covered your belly button! But you looked good in them!
I’m with ya! Take them to Goodwill and then hit the stores. My favorite jeans are called Big Star and I get them at Buckle. Not sure if you have that store in CA. I get the ones with a little stretch in them, and they huge you in all the right places!
I say keep at least one pair and also one pair of your “biggest”. I know for me on a really rough day….it’s nice reminder of how far I’ve been both directions…especially when you slip the big ones off without unbuttoning….hehe
That is exactly what I did once! I kept some pants for after the baby weight and when I finally could put them on I was shocked like you…too high waisted, too narrow around the ankles, and off to the goodwill they went! BUMMER! It’s way worth it to go buy some brand new jeans and feel fabulous! Go shopping!
