Codeine, Chicken Soup and Prince Charming

I learned three things this past week.  One I’m codeine intolerant.  It made feel like I washed down 2 pounds of broccoli with 4 shots of vodka then got on the teacup ride at Disneyland.  It lasted for miserable 36+ hours, the dizziness is still lingering. Seriously, it’s that bad.  Worse than the flu itself. Secondly, I came up a with a simple chicken soup recipe that was perfect for my lack of appetite.  Thirdly, my husband really is my Prince Charming.  He’s been taking care of me without complaint for almost a week.  Thank you my love.

Chicken Soup

8 cups of chicken broth
6-8 chicken breasts (cut up into bite sized pieces)
1 cup of diced carrots
1 cup of frozen peas
1 cup of diced onions
1 cup of green beans (cut or snapped into short pieces)
4-6 cloves of garlic, diced
1 tsp dill
1 tsp ground coriander
Salt to taste

Put everything in a large stock pot and bring to a boil.  Cover and simmer for 60 minutes.

Makes 8 servings.

I know I usually do the macros but being on the computer makes my dizziness worse.  I’ll get to it later.  I hope your week is going well.

xoxo

From one codeine intolerant gal to another: **hope you feel much better soon!** (PS – I always say I am allergic to it whenever whomever ask if I have any allergies, etc. – covers all the bases 😉
