31 Days to a Better Body Body: Day 6 – Stop it.

Day 4 we talked about surrounding yourself with Girl Heroes or women who motivate you to be your best self.

Today, we are going to talk about the Girl Villain.  In my world, I call her Garbage Girl.

And she’s me.

Garbage Girl uses many weapons but one of her most deadly is “comparison”.

It’s self-sabatoge at it’s best.

Nobody wins in a vicious game of comparison.

Let’s play a game of celebration instead.

Let’s appreciate the different shapes, sizes, and faces beauty.

Especially your own.

Let’s build our own best body and not try to build the body of someone else.

Have your Girl Heroes and be inspired but remember there’s a thin line between inspiration and comparison.

Walk mindfully.

Hugs and High Fives,
Jenn

About jennincat

I'm so happy you stopped by my little corner of the web where I write about fitness, food, and amazing women I "meet". I live in California with my wonderful husband and two rambunctious boys. I'm a personal trainer and dreamer. I enjoy most things but some of my favorites are reading, acting, camping, cooking, music, writing, traveling, and being in the moment with my favorite people! You can read more about me here! I hope you stop by often!

I love garbage girl. Well, I love the idea of garbage girl, I actually kind of hate garbage girl herself. Well, not hate, but dislike strongly.

    I’ll shut up now.

Good post by the way. 😉

Good advice! It can be soooo destructive! I had even once convinced myself that certain fit, gorgeous friends wouldn’t really want to be my friend because I’m fat and (enter any put-down word here, I’ve probably called myself that). Ridiculous, I know. When I was thin, I had overweight friends… anyhow.

Your post hits right on target about one of the first steps in this program/workbook I’m learning about: “Stop body-checking!” There was a large section devoted to that. Good call!

Thank you for another awesome post, Jenn! I still nitpick on occasion, but at 43, I do so much less than I used to (most of the time, anyway). In fact, it can sometimes impede me from achieving my goals, because I’m so darn self-accepting! But I do believe, ultimately, that I owe it to myself to be the very best I can be, even though I am pretty great just the way I am right now. 😉 xoxo
