Star Charts

I thought losing weight was going to be the hardest?  Humpf.  Maintaining is a #$*%!.

Why can’t I look at a bowl of green beans and feel that same “Oh just a few” feeling like when I look at a bowl of chips.  (Hits desk with fist.)  Yeah I’m frustrated again. :) Everything else health wise is going well.  I’m feeling positive and energetic but why God Almighty is it so hard to want to eat well??  Or so hard to stop eating.  I actually found myself praying for willpower regarding food the other morning.  It felt a little silly but after praying for all the important things, I was like “And by the way…ummm…can you help me not sneak out back and devour all my kids Z Bars. It makes them cry.”  In case you are wondering what the heck Z bars are they are Cliff Bars for kids.  I’m going to make a chart today. Since I can’t seem to learn to keep my hands where they don’t belong, I need a chart.  Just like a child.  I should probably go by myself some shiny stars. Hopefully will help me stay on track.  It appeals to some of my OCD (obsessive compulsive tendencies).  I’ll post my chart later.

Have a great day and enjoy your veggies.  😉

xoxo

You are adorable when you are frustrated. Thanks for the smile. I wish I felt the same way about veggies as I do about chips too. ;0)

Looking forward to seeing your star chart. Last year I used those little shiny stars on our family calender to track my workouts. Maintenance is such a *bleep*. Although I really want to lose ten more I am struggling just to stay within a five pound range right now :-(

Just found your website yesterday while reading one of your posts on tracker. I love the way you think- because we think alike on alot of things- and yes I agree- maintaining is a bear! I really want to lose more, because I secretly want to try a comp like you did- but I also don’t expect it to be a lifestyle for me. One reason I hesitate to try a comp is because I have seen so many people fluctuate up and down and I am afraid it will feed into the yo-yo dieter in me. I have never been extremely over weight- but always trying to lose 5-10 pounds most of my life. Anyway, I empathize- and I do eat way healthier now that I have followed BFL and clean eating (most of the time) for the last year and a half. But, since I am not really overweight – by most people’s standards- Which I know is your case also—it is hard to stay away from the stuff that is not terribly unhealthy (like Cliff Bars- gosh I love those things!) Anyway- I keep eating clean and hope eventually I will like green beans as much as chips- not there yet :)

Tracy – “Grey Zone” that a good way to look at it. I tend to do better in the black and white zone.

    Aimee – Ha!!! I <3 you!

Michelle – I with ya girl!

Sal – Thanks for stopping by. You think like me…UH-OH. Gotta love crazy land!! 😉 Yeah I read a lot about people fluctuating up and down after competitions. I was determined not to go hog wild over food. After all, I competed to “lose” and I have no desire to be a hardcore figure competitor and live that lifestyle. I’ve gain between 5-8 (depending on the day) pounds since my show. I would have preferred to have gained 2 but that’s life and pizza. You might want to seriously think about giving a comp a try. I found the journey, not the show, to be really rewarding. I’m a former yo-yo too and I don’t think I’m struggling more with food than before. In fact, I think I may be struggling less. Sad. I know. :)

Hey- thanks for advice Jen. I have a lot more to learn about comps in general- I never know who all these big names are when people talk about them- other than Arnold LOL, but I really would like to try one- because without a goal I do not seem to be making much progress these days- it is to easy to have another handful – small though it think it may be- of almonds. Well, healthy at least and better than the M&M’s I used to snack on pre-BFL. Don’t think you are crazy at all- think you make a lot of sense- glad you are out there as an inspiration for folks like me :)
