Snorting Xanax.

I love to make lists. All sorts of lists. Anytime I want to procrastinate, I procrastinate by writing of list of things I won’t get done because I’ll procrastinate again by making another list. I even have a file folder in my filing cabinet labeled “Lists.” So my website wouldn’t be complete without a few lists. Here are two lists that I think cover a lot of the essentials to living a healthful lifestyle. The first is a basic list not in order of importance and most are no-brainers. Not that they are easy, in fact, as I’ve said before there is not much in life that is of any worth that is easy. I struggle everyday trying to incorprate the first list into my life, wether it’s eating Doritos or wanting to shove someone in front of a passing car.

The Non-Xanax List (The Basics)

1. Eat mostly fresh organic whole food. (As much as one’s budget will allow. Don’t go broke b/c then one will be stressed and will soon be snorting Xanax.)

2. Drink tons of filtered water.

3. Make your own household cleaners out of non-toxic substances, such as vinegar or baking soda.

4. Have a quiet time each day to focus on your Creator and your Purpose. (For me, this is the most important and the HARDEST thing to do each day.)

5. Talk about your feelings with people you love and trust. And LISTEN in return!

6. Exercise

7. Get enough SLEEP.

8. Listen to music daily.

9. Distance yourself from toxic relationships. (First one should see where they can improve. But if one is doing their part put up boundaries and stick to them unless the person is an abuser. If so, RUN!)

10. Forgive (This includes the toxic relationship people and the abusers. Again not easy.)

11. Follow the Golden Rule. (Even if one wants to slap someone in the face. Unless, of course, one likes being slapped in the face. In that case, see a therapist.)

12. Do nice things for people without expecting anything in return.

The Xanax List (Less basic things, to try to incorporate into life, if one enjoys driving oneself mad, to the point of snorting Xanax.)

1. Don’t use microwaves. (If one must, cook in glass and not plastic.)

2. Limit computer and TV time.

3. Use food grade stainless steel for cooking. (Fumes from heated Teflon KILL birds.)

4. Use non-toxic make-up and toiletries. (Unless it’s MAC lipstick)

5. Avoid pork and shellfish. (They are nasty creatures who eat poop and other waste which goes into their muscles, the part people eat. Although I think pigs are super cute and lobsters are nice to look at.)

6. Try to eat a raw veggie or fruit at every meal. (Raw food has more enzymes, vitamins, ect.)

7. Drink out of stainless, glass, or aluminum water bottles.

8. Get a little sun everyday but not too much. (Unless one likes the lizard look.)

9. Take only vitamins made from whole foods.

10. Read quality material. (This is highly subjective but Perez Hilton or US weekly does not count.)

11. Own a pet. (Nothing calms me down when I’m stressed like my kitty.)

12. Try to keep clutter in control. (I’m FAR from mastering this.)

13. Roll your eyes at annoying people. (When they are not looking.)

14. Daydream.

15. Get outside and play. (Garden, camp, go to the park, ect.)

16. Give other people SINCERE compliments. (One can find something good in almost everyone if one tries. Maybe the grumpy post office worker has a beautiful manicure. Tell her.)

17. Add a little adventure to one’s life, i.e., try new things. (Who gives a crap if one looks like Sponge Bob while ice skating.)

18. As much as possible, use glass food-storage containers as opposed to plastic.

19. Reuse and Recycle. (It makes one feel good about oneself and helps the environment. Duh!)

20. Try not to compare oneself to others. (I am ME for a reason and that’s good! Same for you.)

21. Stick to a budget. (I’m still working on this one big time!)

22. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every night and morning.

23. Avoid, as much as possible, prescription and over-the-counter drugs. (Unless it’s Xanax.)

I’m sure I’ve left about 226 things off the lists.  If you have something to add please let me know because it give me another reason to snort more Xanax and write a new list.

xoxo

I just found out about Teflon when I was prego…so sad because I just got my pans 4 years ago. I’m so cheap – I HATE to buy new pans especially when I don’t want to give these away since they are toxic.

I think you are nuts, but you know that. I drink out of plastic, microwave in baggies, will never be vegan-ever unless all the animals have disease and there is no other way, and I know this really great cosmetic line- just sharing. Luvs…

Plastic….the number 7 thing freaked me out…and then discovered all but 2 of the cups my kids used where #7.
Like brooke, cosmetic database saved my daughers skin…I stopped eating bottom feeders in the 5th grade, while in science class we learned that they ate poop! Since that day, I’ve called them the “hot-dog of the ocean”. I could never live without the internet. Though my house would really appreciate me limiting my time so it would be clean (:()

    Are shrimp considered shellfish?

And what kind of pans should I buy. Our non-stick has been peeling for months which means we’re eating the peels.

Yep shrimp are shellfish. Little tasty scavengers. I eat them once in while if a friend serves them but for the most part I’ve learned to look at them and laugh cuz they are sort of funny looking.

I just bought plain stainless steel pans. I’ve also heard anodized are good. Here’s a link to a quick read on pans.

Oh I love a girl who loves lists as much as I do.

Your first list is great….the second is, as you say, much more challenging. I thought I had the eye-rolling thing checked off, until I read the parantetical statement. Do I get half a point for rolling my eyes when the annoying people are looking? How else will they know they are being annoying?!?! 😀
