Thank you for visiting!
One of my passions is healthy living. Despite this passion, last spring I reached my highest weight ever due to a battle with severe depression, personal circumstances, and poor choices. Unhappy with my self-image, the choices I was making (and that the fact I was going to have to start buying new pants) I decided I had to choose to get healthy again. In June 2008, I decided to start training for my first figure competition. My initial goal was to lose weight. I didn’t realize I would begin to lose others things in the process, such as my lingering sadness, my bad attitude, and my low-self esteem. To date I have lost almost 20 lbs and feel better than ever! Most importantly my chronic depression has all but disappeared and I once again have the confidence and energy to give to the people and activities I love. I’ve created this blog to encourage as many women as possible. Feel free to email me to say hi and if you want you can sign up for my newsletter to receive free updates, recipes, workouts and hopefully laughs! Wishing you the best as your journey toward your own health & fitness goals. You can do it!!!

Go Jenn!
Congratulations on your win! You did such an amazing job. You’re such an inspiration for mind and body!
i’m so genuinely proud of you jenn!
truly, you’re amazing and like other people have commented on: a true inspiration!
How did you do it? I need to lose 20-30 pounds (that’s my goal anyway). I’d actually be good with 10-15. I’ve gained a lot of weight since I had meningitis last summer. I’ve gained at least 15 pounds from that. And before that I had 3 kids (not at the same time). So weight seems to stick to me. I’ve even grown a little grumpier. Don’t like growing in all of these directions.
I didn’t do any thing magic or special! I ate healthy whole foods in smaller portions, lifted weights, cardio, and got a lot of rest! A lot of people ask me this so I’ve decided to put together a post that addresses each leg of the stool, so to speak, for weight loss. I am hoping to have it done sometime next week or the week after. Sorry to hear you had meningitis…scary…glad you recovered! Thanks for stopping by!!
