You are doing great with your challenge! As Deb said, it does take effort. I used to walk a lot when the kid was a baby and toddler as I walked to a park about 2 miles away from our house. But since the kid is getting older, there is less walking. We do play catch, tag, etc., but it's not as consistent as our daily walks.

So glad the walks are such a nice bonding time for you guys. Walks are great! Can't wait for the kid to get old enough to go on longer walks with me consistently. A few months ago I convinced him to go on a "mini hike" with me. It was only about three miles, but it took SOOOO much convincing and effort to keep him interested that I decided to wait for a while...

It's a lot harder than people might realize- it doesn't just happen unless you are a waitress or in some other walking job! It takes an effort and kudos for you for keeping it going.

Way to go!!! The walks with your family sound wonderful.

I struggle with this, especially during the winter, since I have a desk job. I get up often and walk to other areas of the building, to the kitchen, to the restroom, etc., but it sadly doesn't add up to much. I've been taking walks at lunch this week, but still haven't gotten to 10K! I had to go for less than 1/2 hour, so I'd still have time to eat, and it just doesn't reach the numbers. I definitely want to work on this, though. Thanks for the inspiration!

Getting in 10,000 steps is really easy. First, you want to start walking until you've gone 5,000 steps; next (and this is the tricky part), you turn around and walk back. Ta da! What other problems can I solve for you today?
